DJ RAP GIRL ON TOP OF THE MONTH NOVEMBER 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen, it has been about a year since we last featured a Girl On Top of the Month. This November 2010 we return with a VERY deserving female artist receiving the honors. Please allow us to introduce to you Charissa Saverio also known as DJ RAP. This female prodigy was born in Singapore, but spent her childhood living in various exotic locations around the world because her stepfather was a luxury-hotel manager. Her family settled in Southampton, England when she was a teenager. It was in England where Saverio was introduced to the British rave scene and soon graduated from club kid to a working producer and mixer, therefore spawning the birth of DJ RAP (circa 1988).

In 1994 RAP conceived her first record label, Propa Talent (drum ‘n’ bass and breakbeat music), releasing over 200 tracks since its inception and in 2008 founded house music label, Impropa Talent. DJ RAP is a songwriter and multi instrumentalist and has released three studio albums, 75 mix compilations and over $2,000,000 in cumulative worldwide sales to her name. Let’s not forget to mention the video games and motion picture soundtracks. Oh, and her Twix candy bar commercial followed by a trip to Africa to shoot a documentary to raise awareness about child labor in the chocolate industry. What an exuberating reflection of her greatness!

Today DJ RAP is known as the First Lady of Drum ‘n’ Bass. This is not to be confused with her versatile ability to move effortlessly between dance music genres, giving her the undisputed title of Queen of the Turntables. Shejay magazine has crowned DJ RAP the #1 Female DJ in the WORLD for the last 8 years straight! WOW!

Currently DJ RAP resides in Los Angeles. On Wednesday evenings at 6pm PST, DJ RAP graces the web with an interactive show on http://djrap.com/tv, where you will find her along with special guest DJ’s serving up yummy beats. You can also find this ubiquitous star on Television beginning November 3^rd 2010 (also Wednesday evenings) on Centric at 10:30pm EST. The show is called Master of the Mix, where DJ RAP competes against other DJ’s to earn the title of Ultimate Mix Master! The show re-airs on Saturday nights at midnight EST on BET.
